You may have noticed a few changes on our website, beginning with the home page and the recent appearance of new logos for both CVI Laser Optics and Melles Griot. Yes, you saw it correctly….CVI Laser Optics and Melles Griot has now been officially separated into two, distinct brands: CVI Laser Optics and Melles Griot.

About the new CVI Laser Optics:

CVI Laser Optics will now focus solely on high-quality laser optics, coatings and assemblies with an unparalleled offering of catalog/on-the-shelf standard products, a rapid semi-custom optics capability, alongside the expertise to design and manufacture fully custom components tailored to specific OEM customers’ needs. CVI Laser Optics will be headquartered in Albuquerque, NM.

About the new Melles Griot:

Melles Griot will be centered on two, distinct business groups: Light Sources and Optical Systems.

The Melles Griot - Light Sources Group will continue to grow and strengthen its well known capability to design and manufacture lasers, laser assemblies and laser light engines for the most demanding custom/OEM applications. The Light Sources Group of Melles Griot will be headquartered in Carlsbad, CA,

The Melles Griot - Optical Systems Group will focus on the design, prototype and low to mid-range manufacture of custom lens assemblies, optical shutters and optical systems. Headquartered in Rochester, NY, the Optical Systems Group also has design and manufacturing capabilities in Japan and Korea.

On the horizon:

We are deep into building new websites for both CVI Laser Optics and Melles Griot. Look for the exciting new site launches in late summer 2013. Our new sites will offer improved navigation, will be easier to use to find what you need, and feature better search functionality.
